The Uruguayan firm Castellán expands its team by incorporating Drs. Carolina Diaz de Armas and Mariana Fagioli

With more than 42 years in the market, Castellán continues with the commitment to boost the business of local and foreign companies, and provide comprehensive professional support. With this objective, he incorporated Dr. Carolina Díaz de Armas to his team in the Conflict Resolution Department, and Dr. Mariana Fagioli in the Corporate/M&A Department.
 

Dr. Carolina Díaz de Armas is a lawyer, graduated from the University of the Republic of Uruguay (UdelaR) and Aspiring Professor in the Chair of Private International Law at the Faculty of Law - UdelaR. She is currently pursuing a Master of Laws – LL.M. from the University of Montevideo. Her practice focuses on the analysis and negotiation of pre-litigation disputes, as well as litigation; She has experience in Civil, Commercial and Administrative Law. She was a member of the UdelaR Arbitration Team that participated in the "IX International Arbitration Competition", which was held for the first time in Uruguay at the University of Montevideo in 2016; the IV edition of the "International Investment Arbitration Competition" at the Externado University of Bogotá, Colombia in 2017; and the V edition of the "International Investment Arbitration Competition" at the American University Washington College of Law in 2018. Within the framework of his academic activity, he has attended different congresses and meetings related to Private International Law and Arbitration. International Trade and Investment Law, and published several articles of interest on Private International Law.

Dr. Mariana Fagioli is a lawyer, graduated from the Law School of the University of Montevideo. Her usual practice is focused on Commercial Law, especially in the corporate and contractual areas. In his professional practice, he is dedicated to advising companies in the structuring of their investment as well as in the development of regular activities, the implementation of different mechanisms at the corporate level, the drafting and review of commercial contracts, the structuring of financing plans, among other issues. She has participated in various mergers and acquisitions processes of companies, and has assisted international companies in setting up their business in Uruguay. She has published various articles of interest referring to civil and commercial issues.
