Singapore Expands Quarantine-free Travel and Green Pass

On 9 October, Singapore has announced that it will be extending the Vaccinated Travel Lanes (VTL) to eight more countries: Canada, Denmark, France, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, United Kingdom, and the United States for entry into Singapore from 19 October 2021 without quarantine.

Applications for visitors and Long-Term Pass Holders will commence on 12 October 2021. They must apply for a Vaccinated Travel Pass (VTP) application 7 and 30 calendar days before their intended date of entry into Singapore. Singapore citizens and Permanent Resident turning to Singapore via the VTL do not need to apply for a Vaccinated Travel Pass (VTP).

All travelers must be fully vaccinated and have a valid proof of vaccination issued in any VTL country or Singapore, regardless of which VTL country they depart from. They must arrive in Singapore on a designated VTL flight to be eligible for the VTL and may transit via any of the VTL countries being in effect.

They will only be required to present a valid negative COVID-19 PCR test result taken within 48 hours before departure to Singapore and undergo an on-arrival PCR test upon arriving in Singapore. They will not be required to undergo additional PCR tests on Days 3 and 7 of their stay in Singapore.

Green Pass for non-residents in Italy

Italy's Green Pass, certificate shows that people have been vaccinated, tested negative, or recovered from COVID-19.

In Italy the Green Pass is compulsory for indoor dining in restaurants and bars. It is mandatory for access to museums, cinemas, theatres, gyms, swimming pools, amusement parks, spas, wellness centers, festivals, fairs, casinos, bingo halls, and sports stadiums.

The pass, which does not apply to children under 12, is not necessary for consuming food or drink at tables outdoors or drinking a coffee while standing at the bar. Neither is it needed to travel on local public transport or regional train journeys in Italy.

To request the Green PassIt is necessary to provide at least one of the following: vaccination certification, details showing that you have recovered from covid-19, or a recent test with negative results.

Italian citizens who were vaccinated or recovered from COVID-19 outside Italy can convert their foreign certificates and use them to apply for Green Pass for use throughout the European Union. A complete guide (in Italian) on how to obtain the Green Pass for Italians vaccinated abroad is available here.
