Use of Mask at Work and New Event Circular

As of October 1, and as a consequence of the progress at the national level to the opening phase of the Step-by-Step Plan, the use of the mask in work spaces is not mandatory. Consequently, the employer can only recommend and not force workers to wear a mask.

Additionally, in accordance with circular No. 3,697 of the Superintendency of Social Security (EVENT) dated September 30, 2022 that modified the Covid-19 occupational health safety protocol:

  • Employers must maintain masks for workers who wish to use them.
  • Places for handwashing and liquid soap should be maintained, as well as gel alcohol or 70% alcohol solution.
  • It is recommended to maintain a distance of one meter between workstations.
