Is the Price of a Law Firm a Good Indicator for Hire Them, or Must We Look for Other Signs?

Legal Area: Business Organizations
Industry: Professional Services

Every week, I receive requests for fee information, mostly through an email template, sent simultaneously to me and dozens of other offices. Seems like a comparative analysis of market prices, where the winner will be the cheapest.

But is the price of a law firm a good indicator for hire them, or must we look for other signs?

Of course, the prices charged by law firms have to play a relevant role when choosing a law firm, especially for those who can't or don’t want to spend a lot of money. But in general, the price charged by a law firm can neither be the deciding factor, nor can it ever be synonymous with quality.

I know, as surely as you all do, several lawyers who practice extremely low prices, to attract more clients, and then provide a very unsatisfactory service. But there are also lawyers who do that and they are fantastic.

As with high prices. How many law firms practice high prices and the services provided are mediocre?

We cannot look at prices and, just with that information, check the quality of a law firm.

Regarding nationality processes, I know that I lose clients because there are other offices that offer more advantageous prices, without providing better services or having more quality or experience. As I also know that my prices are lower than other offices. But are the prices that we consider fair in relation to what we do, and possible to charge.

Therefore, before informing about prices, I think it is very important to immediately send to the client all possible information about the law firm and services provided, so that clients can obtain the price information they want, but can reach a decision with full knowledge of everything.

Should be taken into account the experience of the professional and the office, success rates (if possible to calculate), provided services, availability and, of course, recommendations from other professionals and offices. And then, Pragma takes on an extremely relevant roleThe security that Pragma offers is far more valuable.

Too bad there are professionals who just throw a low price, without giving more information, and that is enough to get some clients that don't look for other signs. But as they say, “you get what you pay for”.
