Contrary to all the predictions made, António Costa won the legislative elections in Portugal yesterday, renewing his term as Prime Minister of Portugal for another 4 years.

In 2015, António Costa surprised the political world by managing to become Prime Minister of Portugal, despite losing the elections and making political deals on the left.

In 2019, he saw his unofficial coalition strategy work and won the elections, being elected Prime Minister for another 4 years.

However, in 2021, he lost support from the left and was forced to overthrow the government, with the President of Portugal calling early elections.

After losing the trust of political partners and 2 years of pandemic crisis that affected the entire Portuguese and world society, António Costa would be expected to suffer in the elections and even lose them. Even because 6 years of governance generate some fatigue in society.

However, Portugal united and gave António Costa and the Socialist Party an absolute majority in Parliament, for the second time in the history of victories by leftist parties.

This victory demonstrates that the Portuguese, despite everything, trust those who have led Portugal in recent years to the positive numbers that everyone has seen, and to international recognition.

It is, therefore, to be expected that Portugal's economy can, with complete tranquility, continue to grow and that the country can follow its national and international paths without internal political conflicts.

António Costa has, over the last 6 years, reinforced foreign investment in Portugal thanks to his policies and incentives.

In this way, and with an absolute majority in the Portuguese parliament during the next 4 years, we will be able to keep the doors open to investment in one of the fastest economic growing countries in Europe, with doors open to all those who want to apply to an European nationality, who want to invest in Portugal real estate or who just want to visit and get to know one of the most beautiful and welcoming countries in the world.
