The Superintendency of Industry and Commerce, in its role as national authority for the Protection of Personal Data, on its own initiative initiated an investigation with the purpose of establishing whether the "ChatGPT" application, owned by the company OpenAl OpCo, LLC, complies with Colombian regulations. regarding the protection of personal data, which is established in Statutory Law 1581 of 2012. According to the SIC, said action seeks to determine if measures related to the Principle of Demonstrated Responsibility have been implemented in accordance with national regulations, which is oriented to protect personal information of the users of said companies.
