How To Acquire Chilean Nationality?
WHO CAN REQUEST IT?
1. If you have turned 18 years of age, you are the holder of a valid Definitive Residence, and you have five or more years of residence in Chile, counting from the time you obtained the Electronic Stamp of the Temporary Residence that gave rise to the Definitive Residence that you maintain in force. .

2. If you are the child of foreigners, you are 14 years of age or older, you are the holder of Definitive Residence, you have five or more years of residence in Chile (counting from the time you obtained the Temporary Residence stamp that gave rise to the Definitive Residence that you maintain in force), and you have notarized authorization from your parents or whoever is in charge of your personal care.
3. If you are under 18 years of age, and your parents or one of them has the status of refugee recognized by Chile, and at least one of them has obtained the Nationalization letter, without the need to meet any other legal requirement.
4. If you are a permanent resident and can prove two years of continuous residence in the national territory (counting from the moment you obtained the Temporary Residence stamp that gave rise to the Final Residence that you maintain in force), and that according to Law No. 21,325 of Migration and Immigration, have any of the following links with the Republic of Chile:
- Quality of spouse of a Chilean, for at least two years and whose marriage is registered in Chile, provided that in the same period the provisions of article 133 of the Civil Code (living in a common home) are complied with.
- Relative of Chileans by blood up to the second degree inclusive or if you are adopted by Chileans.
- Child whose father or mother, having been Chilean, has lost Chilean nationality prior to your birth.
