Ira Cohen is the Founder and Principal of Ira Cohen, P.A. Ira earned his first law degree (J.D.) in 1981 and a second law degree (LL.M.) in 1985. He is a member of the Florida and New York Bars and has been practicing law for over 43 years. He is rated AV Pre-Eminent by Martindale Hubbell. Ira is a Chair Emeritus of the Intellectual Property Law Section ("IPLS") of the Federal Bar Association ("FBA") and has lectured on IP subjects many times.

Attorney Cohen has appeared before the Supreme Court of the United States. He has worked on legal cases and related business matters in the United States and in many foreign countries. He handles and manages international IP Portfolios for his diverse clientele.

Ira is a former Judicial Law Clerk (USDC, SDNY). He is very active in the Federal Bar Association (National Sections and Divisions Council, Officer of the ADR Section, Mentor, Life Fellow of the FBA Foundation, etc.), in INTA (International Trademark Association), and in ASIPI (Inter-American Association of Intellectual Property Attorneys). He regularly serves (for the last decade plus) as a Moot Court Judge for both the FBA and INTA. He has authored numerous published articles on Intellectual Property Law and other legal subject-matters. Ira has also taught law, for more than decade, as an Adjunct Professor, at the undergraduate and graduate university levels.

Ira's practice covers the field of Intellectual Property ("IP") law encompassing such areas as copyright, trademark and unfair competition law, and entertainment law, as well as trade secret claims, franchising, and other related causes of action. A broad spectrum of corporate matters also is handled (e.g., entity formation, governance, contracts) as well as the acquisition and sale of businesses and luxury assets (IP, artwork/paintings/sculptures, antiques, antiquarian books, vehicles, airplanes, helicopters, yachts, precious metals, etc.).
